Quality lumber is the key to quality wood construction and the longevity of your wood building. The "grade" of lumber defines the structural quality. Standard construction grades will be select #1 & #2. Select #1 is stronger and used for appearance locations like fascia and trims, because it has less knots and imperfections. Select #2 is used for framing.
