Stucco Repairs Done Right
Stucco, EIFS, and masonry are all commonly used materials for a buildings exterior.
Though durable and can last for many years, stucco is not invincible and will eventually need maintenance.
Stucco can be applied in one, two, or three coats, this depends on your wall construction.
One Coat Stucco Systems:
This system requires specialized products and applicators and is applied over foam backing, similar to EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System).
Two Coat Stucco Systems:
This system is applied on masonry, Block, or concrete walls and does not require a WRB (water resistant barrier) or building paper.
Three Coat Stucco Systems:
This system is intended for wood framed walls and requires a WRB to withstand moisture and protect the wood underneath. Stucco absorbs and drains water which is why a weep screed is required by modern building standards to allow the moisture to leave.
